UHT Commissions GRANSHOT® unit at Korea Future Materials

UHT has commissioned a new GRANSHOT® metal granulation unit at Korea Future Materials (KFM), a subsidiary of LS Cable & System. With the GRANSHOT® unit, KFM will produce CuFlake®, a next-generation copper material for secondary batteries, supporting LS Cable & System’s expansion in eco-friendly, high-performance products.
Following successful trials at UHT’s R&D facility in Hagfors, Sweden, UHT is now happy to announce the commissioning of a new GRANSHOT® unit at Korea Future Materials (KFM), a subsidiary of LS Cable & System. The GRANSHOT® process, proprietary to UHT, quickly solidifies metals into granules on an industrial scale and is used world-wide for a variety of metals. The unit at KFM will produce CuFlake®, a next-generation copper raw material for secondary batteries. The investment aligns with LS Cable & System’s strategy to strengthen its materials and resource-circulation business in response to growing global demand for copper, driven by the expansion of the EV industry, AI data centers and power infrastructure.
