Uddeholm chooses UTCAS®
UHT has received an order from Uddeholm for a new steelworks system that will handle the superior control of all steelworks processes including the electric arc furnace, ladle furnace and vacuum degassing.
– We chose UTCAS from UHT because the platform is the most complete control system on the market, says Lars-Göran Envall, head of IT at Uddeholm.
The delivery is based on UHT’s level 2 platform UTCAS® for design, control and optimisation of processes and equipment in steelworks. Also included in the delivery are adaptations to support Uddeholm’s unique manufacturing processes of their world-leading tool and high-performance steels.
The new system will be in operation in the first quarter of 2020. With UTCAS®, Uddeholm will take further steps towards Industry 4.0 in their steel production and get access to a scalable platform with support for the increasingly automated and connected production of the future. The installation of UTCAS® will also be an advanced tool for process development.
