AFARAK Mogale starts MC FeCr production with CLU and GRANSHOT processes.
A 15 ton CLU® for AFARAK Mogale in South Africa was successfully commissioned by UHT in December, 2014. During the start-up it was proven that the CLU® process is able to refine HC FeCr to carbon contents below 0.5% at a moderate cost.
Mogale’s General Manager Willem Smith is satisfied both with the product, the plant productivity and the production costs: “I’m very pleased with UHT’s supply, the rapid commissioning and our operator’s ability to take over this sophisticated plant. This will really help Mogale and AFARAK group to develop our position as a niche chrome supplier for the FeCr market.”
The UHT scope consists of process design, engineering, equipment and process control systems supply, commissioning and training of operators and process engineers.
