UHT will attend The Fourth Baosteel Biennial Academic Conference held November 16-18 in Shanghai, China, presenting the technical papers:
“Optimized AOD gas administration – a lean process for a green world”
The paper discusses optimization of the AOD process for reduction of additives, leading to decreased production costs and minimized CO2 emissions. The work is based on industrially proven process models integrated in the UTCAS® software for converter management and control.
“The sustainability of valuable metals – recycling of residues from stainless steel production”
Valuable metals are recovered and recycled back to the stainless steel market in the form of granules at the Befesa Scandust plant via the GRANSHOT® metal granulation process. By granulating the so-called Alloyed Pig Iron (API) a high metallic yield is achieved ensuring maximum recovery of metal and less new dust generation compared to a crushed material.
