UTCAS installed at SANDVIK
The SANDVIK plant in Hallstahammar, Sweden has during the end of 2015 installed UTCAS® Process Control for their CLU® converter. The new Level 2 real-time system from UHT has been integrated with the existing Level 1, PLC and Level 3 system.
The UTCAS® system controls the converter process in real-time. The system also provides the possibility to engineer and simulate the refining process off-line. Engineers and operators can later follow up on the results and trends of the operation.
Sandvik in Hallstahammar produces a wide range of special steel for heating-related applications and thermal processing. UHT originally supplied the CLU® converter to SANDVIK in 1996, fitted with UHT’s design for the hydraulic converter drive and gas mixing station prepared for super-heated steam as process gas.
